Job summary

Biffa Burgess Hill Transfer Station is hiring a Yard Operative. You will work 50 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 6:45-17:15, at a busy transfer site. The role involves assisting with safe site operations and helping the public with waste disposal and recycling efforts.

The position offers a competitive salary of £34,918 per year, with responsibilities spanning yard work, customer service, and adherence to H&S policies, PPE use, and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to record and manage site data and logs

Responsibilities

• Assist in safe, efficient site operation and interact with the public
• Support yard tasks including waste picking and segregation
• Advise site users to maximise recycling and present a positive image
• Follow H&S PPE requirements and company policies
• Adhere to all internal procedures and be flexible to additional duties
