A leading logistics company is seeking a Depot Assistant/Yardman to support the daily operations of their busy depot. We are currently looking for a Depot Assistant/Yardman to join our busy depot in Halesowen.

In this role, the successful candidate will provide support to the Foreman and Depot Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the depot.

The role will be predominately based in the Depot, with some field-based work as and when required by the business. The job comes with a competitive salary, 25 days paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to) the following:

  • Loading and off-loading of equipment as necessary
  • Ensuring all equipment is checked in on return to the depot
  • Completing the necessary paperwork associated with deliveries/collections
  • Inspecting equipment on return to the depot for signs of mis-use and reporting any damage to office staff
  • Daily defect reports on forklift trucks to be completed
  • Assisting Foreman and engineers in preparing equipment for hire
  • Make deliveries to site using company vehicles, may on occasion include towing equipment to/from site
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace
  • Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all times.

Desired skills and experience:

We are looking for a well organised individual who has/is;

Full UK driving licence held for minimum of 3 years

Forklift licence preferable (training provided if required)

Ability to Tow trailers (training provided if required)

Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Capability to communicate on all levels

Eager to provide excellent customer service at all times
