Job summary

MGM Timber Glasgow, part of the Donaldson Group, is hiring a Yard Operative. This full-time role offers 44 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7.30am–4.30pm and Friday 7.30am–4.00pm, with two Saturday mornings per month on a rota. Part-time options may be considered on request.

You will manually load/unload, pick stock, deliver to sites, maintain vehicle safety checks, and work closely with a team in a supportive environment. Forklift training provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse or yard operations.
  • Ability to lift heavy items safely.
  • Forklift license preferred; training provided.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Manually loading and unloading goods as required.
  • Picking stock from warehouse for delivery.
  • Delivering goods to client sites and homes.
  • Working with a busy team to maintain standards.
  • Promote and represent MGM Timber professionally.
  • Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks.
  • Assist customers at collections and checkouts.
  • Move stock to storage areas and pick/pack orders.
  • Keep work areas clean and in line with health & safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forklift license (preferred but not essential – training provided).
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Work Hours:

This full-time role entails 44 hours per week. Work hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday from 7.30am to 4.00pm. You will also be required to work two Saturday mornings per month on a rota basis. We can also consider part‑time hours via job share, shorter working days or fewer days each week.
