Huws Gray Sudbury is looking for a Yard Operative / Counter Sales Assistant to help customers, manage deliveries, and keep the yard running smoothly. You’ll work outdoors, support the branch team, and provide practical product knowledge to customers.

Training and development are provided, and there is scope for flexible working. A forklift licence is a bonus, but not essential, and inclusion in the team is encouraged regardless of experience.

• We’re not expecting you to know it all from day one – training is provided.
• You’ll need a great attitude and willingness to pitch in as part of the team.

We’re now looking for a Yard Operative /Counter Sales Assistant​​​​​​​to join the team at our Sudburybranch. If you enjoy working outdoors, being part of a practical team, and delivering excellent customer service, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Yard Operative, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the yard. Here’s what the job involves:

• Helping customers find what they need– offering friendly, practical advice and sharing your knowledge of our products


• Handling deliveries– checking in goods, storing them safely and keeping everything organised


• Loading and unloading vehicles– working closely with the branch and driving teams to keep everything moving


• Looking after our yard– keeping it safe, tidy and secure for our customers and colleagues
