JOB PURPOSE

A yard operative needs to be willing to drive mobile plant and learn the use of bagging machines on site. They need to work in all weather conditions and be able to work within a highly motivated team, with good communication being fundamental. Manual work is required daily.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an important role within GRS, with primary responsibilities to:

• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production of bagged aggregates.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, reporting issues, accidents, and near misses to the line manager.
• Work as part of a high-performing team to produce bagged aggregates for customers, focusing on quality and production targets.
• Operate a forklift truck, depending on site requirements.
• Complete inspections of fixed and mobile plant.
• Bag aggregates in plastic and bulk bags to target levels with relevant training provided.
• Net and sheet lorries as requested by the line manager.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as requested.
• Maintain good communication with drivers, yard operatives, and delivery drivers.
• Ensure compliance with legal duties related to HR and health & safety to promote a safe, equitable, and legally compliant workplace.
