Join Our Client's Team as a Yard Operative in York

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in a thriving automotive environment? Igloo is looking for dedicated individuals to join our client's team in York on a permanent basis!

The Role:

As a Yard Operative, you'll play a crucial part in the yard’s day-to-day operations by completing the following tasks:

1. Dismantling, stripping, and removing parts from vehicles.
2. Conducting daily checks on plant and machinery, reporting defects for prompt repairs.
3. Performing basic operations maintenance, including cleaning, repairs, and yard upkeep.
4. Accurately recording vehicle information.
5. Stripping and grading tyres.
6. Working in different yard areas as needed.
7. Delivering excellent customer service when required.
8. Maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
9. Undertaking other duties as directed by your line manager.

What kind of person are we looking for?

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following qualities:

• Full driving licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Confidence in the use of handheld devices.
• Basic IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
