CNC Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Operative to join our client, a well-established structural steel manufacturer based in Yeovil. This role is ideal for an individual who is looking to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the day-to-day operations of a busy yard.

Location – Yeovil

Job type – Temporary Ongoing

Working hours – Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm

Salary - £15.62

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage and maintain the organization of materials in the yard.
• Load and unload deliveries, ensuring all goods are handled safely and securely.
• Assist with moving and preparing steel and other structural materials for production.
• Operate yard machinery and equipment such as forklifts.
• Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Support in general yard housekeeping to ensure a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure materials are supplied in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all health & safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a yard operative role or similar manual labour position.
• Experience within the steel or construction industry is an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physically fit and capable of handling heavy materials.
• A proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
