Yard Operative (IOS – Integrated Operational Solutions)
The Role:
Barhale is one of three delivery partners within the Anglian Water Integrated Operational Solutions Alliance. IOS is a medium complexity, capital maintenance and enhancement, Civil and MEICA, design and build delivery unit working across Water and Water Recycling to support the successful implementation of the Anglian Water AMP 8 business plan.
The IOS alliance works across multiple disciplines, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control. Incorporating new construction, replacement, or repair. Spanning the entirety of the Anglian Waters asset base.
To ensure water and water recycling projects in the Northampton area are managed successfully from inception to completion, ensuring all required standards, regulations, commercial affordability targets and time frames are met, we are looking for a Yard Operative to join the team.
To assist with loading and unloading vehicles and maintain a clean and safe yard area.
Working as part of the depot operations team and providing full operational support to all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Hire

Load delivery vehicles using system-generated paperwork.
Ensure all external hauliers have the relevant paperwork and drivers are loaded with allocated deliveries only.

Service & Maintenance

Prepare non-mechanical plant for hire; cleaning down, checking ready for hire.
Support the Tools, Plant,

Health and Safety

Complete tasks by the depot risk assessments and notify the Yard manager of any potential non-compliance.
Report accidents and near misses using the correct methods.
Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping, ensure areas are free from waste and trip hazards, etc.

Quality

Ensure that work is carried out by processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement by providing suggestions and feedback to Management.
Work to agreed timescales, updating the yard manager on progress. Maintain good communication with other Management at all times.

Essential

Previous experience loading and unloading vehicles.
Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
Ability to work well within a team, offering support to others.
Forklift licence

Desireable

Previous experience working in a similar role in the plant or equipment hire industry.
