Job summary

MGF Ltd, located in Tring, is hiring a Yard Operative to join our busy depots. You will report to the Depot Foreman and help keep the yard running smoothly, preparing equipment, loading vehicles, and maintaining safety standards.

The role requires hands-on work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for overtime. Training for FLT and hydraulic testing is provided, with a focus on reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience within a busy yard environment is essential.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• FLT experience is desirable but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, assembling, sorting, and testing.
• Assisting in loading/unloading of Company vehicles.
• Sorting, identifying and recording damages.
• Racking and stacking equipment.
• Driving Fork Lift Trucks (Training provided).
• Testing of Hydraulic equipment (Training provided).

Salary: £14.00 to £14.55 per hour + overtime paid at time and a half
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

With 13 depots nationwide and over 450 passionate members of our team, we're expanding. Each team member plays a crucial role in this success, and we need your help as a Yard Operative to continue delivering exceptional results.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Depot Foreman, you'll be at the centre of our operations, engaging in diverse tasks that keep our yard running smoothly. No two days will be the same as you undertake general duties, ensuring our yard meets the company's evolving needs. From preparing and assembling MGF equipment to conducting thorough tests, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining our industry-leading turnaround times.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:

• Preparing equipment i.e. assembling, sorting and testing
• Assisting in loading/ unloading of Company vehicles
• Sorting, identifying and recording damages
• Racking and stacking equipment
• Driving Fork Lift Trucks (Training provided)
• Testing of Hydraulic equipment (Training provided)

To Achieve This, You Will Need:

• Experience within a busy yard environment
• Good appreciation of Health & Safety
• Experience working in a team environment
• FLT experience (Desirable)
