Qualifications

Specialists in providing engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe Building Services leverages offsite fabrication to design and deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors as well as local authorities. Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, education and leisure projects for over 50 years.

The role: The role holder will be responsible for the safe and accurate loading of company and subcontractor vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all core fleet vehicles are loaded with the correct load & product quantities in a safe and fair manner.
  • Advise Controllers of any order discrepancies and investigate with warehouse to resolve with no impact on customer service.
  • Ensure collecting drivers provide an appropriate order reference number & load only the goods on that order.
  • Ensure all collection & delivery notes are completed in full with correct quantities, date, operative & customer signature.
  • Carry out daily deck checks for picked orders remaining in the yard & identify any possible missed shipments
  • Carry out daily equipment audits & identify areas of activity (loading/unloading)
  • Ensure entire yard area is clear of any waste, and maintain a tidy and safe environment to work in.
  • Carrying out any and all duties as requested by management provided suitable training has been received.
  • Use MHE in the course of daily activities safely and in accordance with company guidelines including carrying out pre-use inspections & reporting defects
  • Wear Uniform and PPE at all times while at work, report to supervisor any defects in PPE & request replacements
  • Undertake site inductions for visiting drivers including use of language cards where appropriate
  • Responsible for Banksman duties for all drivers
  • Report all hazards, near misses and accidents in accordance with company policies.
  • Assisting with load securing methods & preparation of vehicles for loading/unloading.
  • Responsible for all general yard duties.
  • Liaise with other relevant departments to ensure customer orders are correct, prepared & safe to load, undertake rectifying action if not.
  • Responsible for challenging unauthorised persons in yard area.
  • Follow all company policies at all times
  • Responsible for yard shunting where required including mounting/demounting boxes & manoeuvring LGV to and from loading area

Skills And Experience Required

  • Manual handling experience
  • FLT Licences
  • Understanding of order processing paperwork - pick slips & delivery notes
  • Understanding of Operator licencing & the importance of safe, secure loading.
  • Ensuring accuracy, understanding the importance of all customer orders. Including OTIF measures, the impacts of errors and the potential cost to the business
  • Ability to be flexible in your approach to working
  • Understanding of specific customer requirements
  • Basic knowledge of IFS systems

Working Hours And Benefits

Monday - Friday 40 hours per week on shifts. 6:00am-2:00pm / 9:00am-5:00pm / 10:00am-6:00pm
