Job summary

Cameron Clarke Associates are representing a Newcastle-based client seeking a Yard Operative to join an outdoor yard team. The role involves picking stock, processing returns, loading/unloading vehicles and keeping the yard tidy, with a focus on safety and efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site position paying £14 per hour.

You’ll operate forklifts where trained, support depot targets, and contribute to a professional image through compliant procedures and high standard of work.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of a team in an outdoor yard environment.
• Commitment to health and safety procedures and the correct use of PPE.
• Ability to work efficiently and meet targets.

Responsibilities

• Pick stock for customer orders, ensuring the correct quantity and quality, and securely band or wrap items for safe transportation.
• Process returned hire stock and accurately complete damage reports.
• Meet targets set by the Depot Manager or Supervisor efficiently.
• Operate a forklift truck or lorry loader, where externally trained, certificated and authorised.
• Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded safely and correctly, ensuring drivers are satisfied with their loads.
• Keep the yard tidy and organised, returning unpicked stock to the correct locations.
• Follow company health and safety policies, wear the correct PPE and comply with relevant procedures, legislation and risk assessments.
• Maintain the company's integrity and professional image at all times.

The Role

They are seeking a Yard Operative to work as part of a team in an outdoor yard environment. The role involves picking customer orders, processing hire returns, loading and unloading vehicles, and maintaining a tidy and organised yard.
