Job summary

Dawsongroup Energy Solutions is seeking a practical Yard Operative to join our depot. You will prepare, inspect and maintain hire equipment, keep the yard tidy and safe, and support the service team with routine tasks and occasional driving as required.

We welcome hands-on individuals with a methodical approach, good record-keeping, basic computer skills and a team spirit. Training and progression are provided within a long‑standing asset rental business.

Dawsongroup Energy Solutions is looking for someone practical and reliable to help prepare, inspect and maintain hire equipment, while keeping the depot safe, organised and ready for customers.

• Clean and maintain hire equipment, ensuring it is presented to a good standard.
• Inspect and test returned equipment, with training provided where required.
• Load and unload vehicles using B1 and B2 class forklifts, with training available where needed.
• Use computer-based systems to complete administration and maintain accurate records.
• Keep the yard, workshop and warehouse organised, follow health and safety procedures, and support the Service team with other duties, including occasional driving and towing when required.

You will take a practical, methodical approach to your work, pay attention to detail and enjoy being part of a team that helps keep things running smoothly. Experience with equipment, tools, maintenance or mechanical and electrical tasks would be useful, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

• Basic computer skills and confidence recording information.
• Good communication skills and a helpful, team‑focused attitude.
