Robertson Recruitment is seeking a Yard Operative for our client based in Belper. They are eager to provide training and offer a long-term opportunity for the right candidate. This is a temp-to-perm position.

Yard Operative - Duties

1. Manage and operate machinery, specifically sawmilling equipment.
2. Perform general housekeeping duties.
3. Work as part of a small team.
4. Select timber to match specifications on cutting lists.
5. Conduct quality checks on completed work.
6. Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
7. Understand and work with metric/imperial measurements.

Yard Operative - Skills

1. Must be able to commute to the location; on-site parking available.
2. Excellent attention to detail.
3. Good dexterity skills.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
5. Physically fit, as heavy lifting is required.
6. Experience with timber-related machinery is advantageous (full training provided).
7. Previous experience working with timber is beneficial.

Hours of Work

Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 17:00

Friday: 07:30 - 16:00

Pay Rate

£12.50 per hour. Overtime is available.
