Job summary

Huws Gray Group in Peckham is seeking a Yard Operations Manager to lead the yard team and keep stock moving efficiently. You’ll work with Yard Operatives and Drivers to ensure smooth deliveries, accurate goods in and out, and a safe, well-organised yard.

We value practical experience in fast-paced environments; a Forklift Driving Licence is advantageous and we provide training and development to help you succeed in a supportive, inclusive team.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence and/or experience operating forklift in a busy yard.
• Strong stock control and inventory management abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with a can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee yard operations and coordinate with Yard Operatives and Drivers.
• Manage stock levels and flag faulty or damaged goods to the Branch Manager.
• Support deliveries by handling loading/unloading and ensuring timely movement of goods.
• Ensure goods in and out are accurately recorded on our systems.
• Contribute to a safe, well-organised yard and provide excellent customer service.

We’re now looking for a Yard Operations Manager to join the team at our (Peckham) branch. You’ll play a key role in keeping our yard running smoothly. You’ll lead a team, ensuring stock is maintained and deliveries go out efficiently—all while creating a safe and well-organised environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Overseeing yard operations - working closely with our Yard Operatives and Drivers
• Managing stock levels - identifying any faulty or damaged goods, and reporting issues to the Branch Manager
• Supporting deliveries - handling loading and unloading to keep things moving
• Handling goods in and out - ensuring all documentation is completed accurately on our systems
• Working as part of a team - keeping our branch running efficiently and delivering excellent customer service
