No two days are the same! Crofton is seeking a Yard Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The ideal Yard Maintenance Technician will assist with upkeeping of the companys property and repairs of the companys ground support vehicles and equipment.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Repairs and services mowers, edgers, weed-whackers, tractors, and service vehicles.
• Maintains heavy equipment that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.
• Inspects ground support vehicles and equipment to determine whether repairs are needed.
• Troubleshoots issues or problems with vehicles and machinery as necessary to make repairs.
• Schedules periodic maintenance for ground support vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains a clean and safe property yard and repair shop.
• Tracks inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Maintains repair log for vehicles and equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Requires a valid Drivers License and Good Driving Record.
• 
  Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair ground support vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to read repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.

Education and Experience:

• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 2+ years experience as a grounds/yard maintenance person, preferably in construction.
• Ability to acquire and maintain port and base access.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
• Exposure to construction and marine site dangers.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds and handle noisy environments.
• Able to traverse all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may require walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
