Job summary

A recruitment agency seeks an experienced scrap metal recycling operative for a busy yard in Sheffield. The role is temporary to permanent with working hours from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Essential experience in processing and sorting ferrous and non-ferrous metals is required, along with advantageous skills in forklift or crane operation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in processing, sorting and grading ferrous and non-ferrous metals is essential.
• Experience on Forklift (counterbalance) or grab crane would be an advantage.

• Assisting with loading and unloading.
• Processing scrap materials through shearing or burning.
• Sorting materials by type.
• Maintaining good housekeeping and a safe working environment.
• Assisting other operatives.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced scrap metal recycling operative to join a busy yard based in Sheffield S9.

This is a temporary to permanent position working 7.30am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Starting rate 13.50 per hour.

Previous experience in processing, sorting and grading ferrous and non- ferrous metals is essential.

Experience on Fork lift (counterbalance) or grab crane would be an advantage.

Duties will include-

• Assisting with loading and unloading
• Processing scrap- Shearing/burning etc
• Sorting materials by type
• Maintaining good housekeeping and safe working environment
• Assisting other operatives
