Job summary

Pertemps Bond is hiring a Yard Labourer in Bedford (Millbrook) to join a busy team. This hands-on role involves handling, inspecting, counting, and maintaining formwork and scaffolding equipment, ensuring materials are prepared, organized, and ready for customer use.

The candidate should have prior yard/warehouse experience, be physically fit for heavy lifting, reliable and punctual, with good attention to detail and a solid safety mindset. FLT Counterbalance training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Manually handle formwork and scaffolding materials.
• Count and check equipment in and out of the yard.
• Inspect materials for damage and report defects.
• Perform basic maintenance, cleaning and repairs as needed.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Organise and store stock within the yard.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Assist with stock control and inventory checks.
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.

Pay Rate: £13.00 - £14.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Labourer to join our busy team. This is a hands‑on role involving the handling, inspection, counting, and maintenance of formwork and scaffolding equipment. You'll play an important part in ensuring materials are prepared, organised, and ready for customer use.

Key Responsibilities

• Manual handling of formwork and scaffolding materials.
• Counting and checking equipment in and out of the yard.
• Inspecting materials for damage and reporting any defects.
• Carrying out basic maintenance, cleaning, and repairs where required.
• Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Organising and storing stock within the yard.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and tidy working environment.
• Assisting with stock control and inventory checks.
• Following all health and safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, labouring, or industrial environment is preferred.
• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy manual handling.
• Good attention to detail when counting and inspecting equipment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
• FLT Counterbalance experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
