Job summary

Orion in Peterborough is seeking an experienced Yard Controller to lead daily yard operations. The role involves supervising a small team, managing goods in/out, stock control and coordinating movements across sites. A hands-on approach is required to drive improvements and ensure accurate, on-time dispatch.

The position is permanent, full-time, offering autonomy and opportunities to shape the operation and grow with the business.

Qualifications

• Experience as Yard Controller or similar role with supervision.
• Strong goods in/goods out and stock control experience.
• Forklift experience is essential; licence is a plus.
• Ability to implement improvements and own the yard.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily yard operations.
• Lead and support a team, with plans to grow.
• Oversee goods in and goods out activities.
• Ensure stock is stored, located and organised.
• Coordinate product movement between sites.
• Operate forklift as required.
• Improve yard layout, organisation and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production and logistics teams.
• Monitor stock movements and inventory levels.
• Ensure orders are dispatched accurately and on time.
