Overview

Yard / Maintenance Person

This role is one of the most important roles for our store. The early starts you are committed to attend are for individuals who do not mind sleeping early and waking up early, especially on cold days.

You will be provided with the correct uniform to keep you safe and warm, including high visibility vests, gloves, and cozy hats. Safety boots are required to protect your feet.

The role involves preparing for the McDonald's delivery truck to unload. You will push cages from the truck to the stockrooms, unload cages (which are heavy), and handle boxes individually as needed.

All stock must be checked for quantities, temperatures, and damages. After inspection, all stock should be unloaded and stored in designated areas: frozen in freezers, chilled in fridges, and dry stock in stockrooms, following FIFO stock rotation.

Any shortages on the store floor should be replenished.

All empty cardboard boxes must be broken down and placed into cages for recycling.

Additional duties include:

• Emptying bins
• Compacting rubbish with loading machines to save space in larger bins
• Cleaning spillages outside the store
• Jet washing the yard
• General cleaning of the working area

This is a manual job involving lots of safe lifting and carrying. If you do not mind hard work, this is the job for you!
