Job summary

Pertemps Bond is recruiting a Service Engineer in Rushden to maintain plant equipment and ensure high safety and quality standards. The role involves on-site and occasional travel to a second depot, with a Monday-Thursday 8am–5:30pm schedule and Friday 8am–4:30pm.

The successful candidate will have extensive mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to work independently in a yard environment with good communication to internal and external

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
• Experience with heavy plant or construction equipment.
• Strong fault finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organisation with a strong safety focus.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a yard-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on plant equipment at Rushden yard.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, in-yard and on-site.
• Document service activities to ISO and Health & Safety standards.
• Ensure equipment leaving yard is fit for purpose.
• Provide first-line technical support to engineers, sales teams, staff and customers.
• Support yard plant management, stock control and parts ordering.
• Assist loading/unloading and safe storage of heavy plant equipment.
• Deliver technical guidance and assist with training of colleagues.
