Job summary

LBS Builders Merchants in Swansea is seeking a proactive Yard Assistant to join our team. This hands-on, customer-facing role involves helping customers, loading and unloading deliveries, maintaining stock presentation, and keeping the yard safe, tidy and well-organised.

You will work around 40 hours per week with some Saturday mornings, and you will be part of a busy team. Forklift licence is desirable or training can be provided, and there are benefits including profit share, staff discounts,

Qualifications

• Experience in yard/warehouse environment preferred.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather.
• Forklift licence desirable or willingness to train.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers in the yard and assist with loading vehicles.
• Pick and prepare orders for delivery or collection.
• Load/unload company and supplier vehicles safely and accurately.
• Check materials for quality, quantity and damage.
• Monitor stock levels and layout.
• Assist with stock takes and housekeeping duties.
• Report accidents, damages or security issues.
• Operate forklift trucks after training and certification.
• Maintain high health and safety standards across the site.
