Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a software developer for the XVA development team to build and maintain XVA simulations and tools. You’ll collaborate with the ITSD Business Platforms and global offices to deliver solutions and meet business requirements.

The role requires strong C/C++ and Python skills, plus experience with software architecture and agile practices. Hybrid working and competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in Computer Science or similar engineering degree.
• Extensive background within the required relevant experience.
• Practical work experience involving system architecture and software application and message/data transfer and processing.
• Be well-versed in software implementation.
• Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working within the XVA family (e.g. CVA, DVA, FVA, KVA or MVA).
• Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and troubleshooting potential system issues; ability to translate into technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the suite of XVA simulations, applications and tools.
• Work with the XVA desk, trading desks, and research to translate business requirements into technical specs.
• Support both in-house and external software solutions for daily XVA analysis.
• Troubleshoot production environment to meet SLAs.
• Assist in Credit Risk analysis inquiries and improve operational efficiency.
• Balance project work, BAU and support tasks.
