Job description

Language Empire is seeking a talented Writer to join our team. As a Writer, you will be responsible for creating engaging and well-researched content for various purposes. We are looking for someone who has a passion for writing and the ability to communicate effectively. You will support the bid writing team with the end-to-end bid process, producing compelling responses to help us grow our business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful and profitable professional business providing nationwide services. This role is office-based in Rochdale, OL12.

What will you be doing?
  1. Supporting the bid writing team with the end-to-end bid process
  2. Assisting with the preparation and planning of bid projects (bid team, bid plan, milestones, deadlines)
  3. Writing original and compelling responses for bids and proposals for both new and existing clients in the Public & Private Sector
  4. Conducting thorough research on industry-related topics, best practices, and competitor activity
  5. Reviewing bids before submission to ensure relevance, accuracy, and professionalism
  6. Ensuring all content is accurate, well-structured, and meets company standards
  7. Proofreading and editing content to ensure clarity and consistency
  8. Adhering to deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  9. Liaising at all levels with internal teams and stakeholders
  10. Reworking pre-written content where relevant
  11. Reviewing past successful and unsuccessful submissions, gathering feedback and lessons learned to promote continuous improvement
  12. Providing regular progress updates
  13. Supporting the documentation of bid strategy, differentiators, win themes, key messages, and content for proposals and presentations
  14. Contributing to a bid knowledge library and undertaking periodic reviews to ensure content is up-to-date
  15. Researching and writing content for platforms including websites, blogs, social media, and marketing materials
  16. Performing other ad-hoc marketing, bid development, and administrative duties
Requirements
  • A relevant degree qualification (e.g., BA/MA/PhD in Writing, English Language & Literature, Journalism)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an extensive vocabulary
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and proofread documents effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver presentations
  • A team player who also works well independently
  • Organized and self-motivated, with effective workload management
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Ambitious and driven to develop skills and progress within the company
  • Reliable commute to our office in Rochdale
