Overview

Our London-based marketing team needs a sharp communicator to help make energy fun and simple. We’re looking for someone who can cut through the complex, skip formalities, and write for humans: clarity over flowery prose. You should balance serious, silly, and sincere tones, react quickly, write at speed, and make words pull their weight.

This role is more than writing. You’ll take the initiative, chat with customers and energy specialists, and use what you learn to improve our comms. We like generalists who work with freedom and responsibility. You’ll manage your own workload without prescriptive briefs or account managers, and you’ll jump on projects as they come. What you'll do:
  • Develop, update and sharpen customer comms (from email to website help guide to app UX) so they really hit the mark
  • Review, edit and proofread content, ensuring claims are accurate
  • Speak to energy specialists, gather insights, and fine-tune comms based on learnings
  • Turn complex or boring messages into clear, engaging content
  • Add small moments of positivity to brighten the customer experience and foster brand loyalty
  • Use SEO or Google Analytics knowledge to boost reach and measure impact
  • Dive into HTML code and make quick changes to improve comms on the fly
What you'll need:
  • Experience as a writer or copywriter, or strong natural writing talent; we value skill and mission fit over formal title
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and improve communications
  • Strong sense of tone and when to dial it up or down
  • Experience with a distinct brand voice is a plus but not essential
  • Creative mindset and enthusiasm for new ideas
  • Openness to feedback and a drive to learn and grow
  • Ability to understand people, with storytelling and problem-solving skills
  • Awareness of SEO best practices and how to measure comms success; helpful but not mandatory
