Job description

We currently have a vacancy for a Manager at Club 4 U in our out of school provision. This is a key role in which you will be managing a team of staff to provide quality out of school play opportunities for children aged from 4 - 11 years.

You will be supported by and report to the Board of Directors at Club 4 U.

This 25‑hour Manager role will require you to work Monday to Friday 3 pm – 6 pm in the after‑school club at Westfield Junior School, and on rota for the breakfast club 7:50 – 9 am with remaining hours flexible for other duties.

About the Role
  • We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Manager of Wraparound Care to lead our dedicated team in providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children before and after school.
  • You will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality provision that supports the school’s ethos and meets the needs of our families.
  • As the Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of our wraparound care service, lead and motivate staff, and ensure safeguarding and child wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and develop the wraparound care team to deliver high‑quality childcare provision.
  • Ensure all safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety policies are fully implemented and embedded in daily practice.
  • Maintain robust systems for recording attendance, incidents, and staff training.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote children’s physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, and school staff to support every child’s individual needs.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and staffing schedules effectively to ensure smooth running of the provision.
About You
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a childcare, education, or wraparound care setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and statutory requirements for out‑of‑school care.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in Childcare, Playwork, or equivalent.
  • Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake).

Club 4 U is a not‑for‑profit company established in 2006 to provide and assist in the provision of childcare and educational services for the benefit of the community out of school care services supporting both Eastfield and Westfield schools. Club 4 U is run as a separate business to the schools. Club 4 U’s other services include a Breakfast Club, After school club and Holiday Club. We also run a separate provision for Early Year – Playgroup. This is not covered by this position.
