Overview

RCCG Throne of Grace, Wisbech, is a vibrant, dynamic, and rapidly growing church with members from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated Worship Minister/Music Director to provide spiritual leadership through worship, music, prayer, and pastoral guidance. The ideal candidate will possess both musical expertise and a deep understanding of Christian worship, leading the congregation into spiritually uplifting experiences. This role includes oversight of the choir and worship team, fostering an inclusive and engaging worship environment that reflects and advances the church’s mission. Reporting to: Senior Pastor.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Lead worship services, integrating music, prayer, and scripture to create a spiritually impactful atmosphere.
  2. Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to members of the worship team and the congregation.
  3. Plan and organise worship sessions, including song selection and thematic alignment with sermons.
  4. Supervise, mentor, and encourage choir members, promoting both spiritual growth and musical discipline.
  5. Ensure that worship services reflect the theological and doctrinal beliefs of the church.
  6. Conduct Bible-based teaching on worship to equip the choir and worship team in both music and ministry.
  7. Lead prayer meetings and spiritual retreats to strengthen the worship ministry.
  8. Oversee and maintain the church’s musical instruments, ensuring proper care and stewardship of donated resources.
  9. Train, retrain, and mentor church members who are interested in learning to play musical instruments.
Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • A music minister within The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) or another relevant Christian denomination.
  • At least a certificate in music education.
  • Deep theological understanding of Christian worship, music, and liturgical leadership.
  • Proficient in playing a minimum of two musical instruments, particularly the keyboard and bass guitar.
  • Experience leading corporate worship services in a church setting.
  • Strong pastoral and mentorship skills to spiritually guide team members.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage, inspire, and lead the congregation.
  • Experience in sound engineering and managing worship technology.
  • Have served in the capacity of a Music Director in RCCG or a reputable Christian denomination for at least 5 years.

  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage time and competing priorities effectively.
  • A team player with flexibility to adapt to evolving ministry needs.
