Job description

Pollok Baptist Church is seeking a Worship/Associate Pastor to lead and organize worship for our Sunday morning and Wednesday night services, as well as assist the Lead Pastor in general ministry duties. This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about worship and pastoral ministry, and is looking to grow both personally and professionally while helping our church grow spiritually and in community.

We value a blend worship style that incorporates both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs, aiming to create a meaningful and unified worship experience for our congregation.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Worship Leadership (Main responsibilities):
   1. Plan and lead Sunday morning and Wednesday evening worship services.
      • Our Wednesday evening worship time is more relaxed as we have a Bible study and game night.
   2. Coordinate with the pastor to ensure worship aligns with the message and church vision.
   3. Help volunteers schedule and rehearse when needed.
   4. Select music that reflects a blend of worship styles - traditional hymns and contemporary songs.
   5. Instrumental ability is welcomed but not required.
2. Associate Pastor:
   1. Assist the Lead Pastor with pastoral responsibilities as needed.
   2. Support and occasionally lead Bible studies, small groups, or special services.
   3. Help plan and organize church events, outreach, and ministry programs.
   4. Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas to church planning and growth strategies.
