Job summary

Air Products Inc. in Worcester, United Kingdom, is seeking a Workshop Technician to refurbish, modify and test equipment for Customer Installations.

You will process Work Orders, prepare Cryogenic Storage Tanks and pipework, and carry out installation and testing of cryogenic components, keeping thorough records. You will assemble and refurbish nitrogen generators and compressors, assist with oxygen cleaning, and help investigate returns to identify failure modes.

Qualifications

• Minimum basic mechanical engineering experience including pipework, fittings, and fabrication.
• Understanding of pressure vessels, safety devices and regulators.
• Basic electrical knowledge is desirable.
• Good communication and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Process all Work Order equipment preparation for Worcester Workshop.
• Prepare Cryogenic Storage Tanks and pipework for customer orders.
• Mechanical installation, testing and refurbishment of cryogenic components; record paperwork.
• Pick parts to replenish Kanban and meet customer demand dates.
• Complete failure reports on equipment.
• Assemble and refurbish Nitrogen Generators and compressors; document paperwork.
• Organise tank refurbishment work and report to Workshop Supervisor.
• Perform Oxygen Cleaning on equipment as required.
• Assist investigations into returns/complaints to identify failure modes.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement Events within the department.
• Assist with Facility Planned Maintenance tasks as requested.
