Job summary

ArtsHub (UK) Ltd. in Slough is seeking a dedicated Workshop Technician & Ecosystem Builder to lead the daily running and upkeep of the innovation hub's workshop. You will foster a welcoming, collaborative environment for members and ensure safe, productive prototyping spaces.

You will train users on machinery, advise on design and prototyping, maintain safety compliance, and connect members with our experts while supporting tours and maker‑centric events.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to build a supportive workshop community.
• Experience aiding entrepreneurs and creatives in realising physical projects.
• Experience in maintaining a safe working environment.
• Experience coordinating maintenance and managing supplier relationships.
• Experience tracking spend and assisting purchasing within budgets.
• Some knowledge of CAD and machine control software.
• Experience with prototyping techniques (CNC, laser cutting, woodworking, plastics, etc.).
• Health & Safety practical skills.
• Strong teamwork with stakeholders across disciplines and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Help build and maintain a strong community of workshop users, encouraging knowledge sharing.
• Aid entrepreneurs and creatives to realise the physical aspects of their projects.
• Induct members in safe use of all workshop equipment and provide ongoing prototyping support.
• Maintain and build external relationships with partners and suppliers.
• Support the Location Team with workshop tours and maker-centred events.
• Support the Programme team in scoping and facilitating workshop activities.
• Maintain a safe and effective workshop and ensure high standards of H&S compliance.
