Job summary

Cubitts KX Group Ltd seeks a Workshop Assistant Manager to oversee the Kings Cross spectacle-making workshop. You will lead CNC operations, making, repairs, and mentoring of CNC Operators, Makers and Apprentices, while ensuring safety, quality and efficient output.

You will roll out new equipment and processes, balance workloads, and maintain strong craftsmanship with a collaborative culture, representing Cubitts’ values and mission across the workshop.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a workshop or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC operation and manual machining processes.
• Commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and quality standards.
• Ability to coach and develop technical teams and apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily workshop shifts, plan workloads, and assign tasks.
• Coach CNC Operators, Makers and Apprentices with training plans.
• Maintain quality standards and lead problem solving to prevent defects.
• Oversee equipment upgrades and new process deployments.
• Plan production output to meet volume and turnaround targets.
• Manage stock of materials and tools with suppliers.
• Champion creativity while ensuring efficiency and safety.
