Job description

Job Vacancy

Midlothian Council are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced fleet technicians to join our team maintaining our diverse fleet ranging from cars to RCVs and specialist items such as road sweepers and gritters.

The ideal candidate should have a diverse knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnosis and repair coupled with a desire for service delivery to a high standard. Teamwork is an important part of this role as is the demonstration of willingness to learn new skills and develop as part of a team.

Time served (minimum four years' experience) workshop technician qualified to SVQ 3 level or equivalent with a proven track record of maintaining heavy plant/vehicles/ equipment used for road maintenance, agriculture and grass cutting including a full working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, air and pneumatic systems for motor vehicles, construction plant or agricultural/landscaping machinery. Desirable

LGV Driving Licence.

PSV Driving Licence

Ministry of Transport (MOT) testing certification.

Based on 39 hours over 52weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £35,633.34 per annum.
