Job description

Our client is a plant hire company seeking an experienced workshop technician based at their yard in Redhill, Surrey.

The role involves checking in all returned hire equipment (ladders, platforms, equipment hoists, and personnel hoists) and conducting routine maintenance and repairs to prepare for the next hire.

Full training will be provided, but a fundamental understanding and ability to work with mechanical and electrical equipment are required. Knowledge of materials handling mechanical/electrical systems is preferred but not essential.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Erecting and assembling scaffold/hoist equipment
2. Working with electrical equipment and understanding basic principles
3. Servicing and installing hoists

Working hours are from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, site-based.

The position offers a very competitive salary, ranging from £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, along with 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, private medical insurance after the qualifying period, and immediate interviews and start for the successful candidate.
