As a Workshop Technician you'll play a vital role in ensuring all teaching and learning materials are ready right on time, while maintaining the perfect stock levels to support seamless learning experiences. About the Role:

  • Prepare all teaching and learning materials promptly, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Keep all equipment operational and safe, maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform repairs and servicing on equipment as needed.
  • Manage stock control for materials and consumables, including ordering supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain work areas to high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
  • Promote and adhere to health and safety regulations, local codes of practice, and College policies.
  • Support teaching staff and students with equipment and student work.
  • Provide demonstrations to learners and assist lecturers as required.
  • Complete administrative tasks relevant to the work area.
  • Assist in developing work projects and exercises.
  • Conduct PAT testing on equipment when necessary.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Technical Services Team.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Electrical installation or Plumbing.
  • Knowledge of ordering and stock control Knowledge and experience of
  • Awareness of Health and Safety at Work related issues.
  • IT literate in particular use of internet and email.
  • Possess a ‘can do' attitude.
