Job summary

A local firm in Carmarthen seeks a Workshop Technician for a 2.5-month contract to service and repair Council vehicles. Overview

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Workshop Technician on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.96- £18.22 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, and repairs on a range of Council vehicles, including HGVs, vans, and specialist fleet equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations, Council policies, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Liaise with supervisors, colleagues, and other departments to prioritise workload and support operational requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the workshop area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly used and maintained.
  • Undertake other related duties as required to support fleet operations.
Essentials
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light or Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering.
  • Driving Licence: Minimum Category B (car)
  • Proven experience in servicing, diagnosing, and repairing light and/or heavy vehicles.
  • Experience working with hydraulic and electrical systems on specialist vehicles (e.g., refuse vehicles, tippers, or plant machinery).
