Job summary

Prime-Appointments is recruiting a hands-on Workshop Supervisor for a leading timber products manufacturer in the UK. This permanent role involves supervising bench joiners, planning workflow, reading drawings, and ensuring quality and safety in daily production.

You will manage a skilled team, monitor targets, mentor staff, and collaborate with senior management. The position offers full-time hours with pension, on-site parking and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in joinery, woodworking or timber doors/frames.
• Supervisory / team leader experience.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety.
• Hands-on approach with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and make decisions.

Responsibilities

Workshop Supervisor – Timber Doors & Frames

Are you an experienced Workshop Supervisor, Joinery Supervisor, Joinery Team Leader or Senior Bench Joiner looking for your next career move?

Our client is a growing manufacturer of bespoke timber doors, frames and panels, supplying high-end commercial and residential projects. They are looking for a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead a skilled joinery team and oversee daily workshop production.

The Role

• Supervise and motivate bench joiners, sprayers and workshop operatives
• Plan and coordinate workshop production and workflow
• Read technical drawings, specifications and cutting lists
• Maintain high standards of quality, craftsmanship and productivity
• Monitor production targets, deadlines and material waste
• Manage Health & Safety procedures
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching and employee management
• Manage attendance, timekeeping and holidays
• Work closely with senior management and the wider manufacturing team

About You

• Experience in joinery, woodworking, furniture manufacturing or timber doors/frames
• Previous supervisory, team leader or workshop management experience
• Strong people management and communication skills
• Good understanding of Health & Safety
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail
• Able to work independently and make confident decisions

Own transport is essential due to the location.

• Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–4:00pm
• Friday: 7:00am–3:15pm
