Job summary

Prime-Appointments are recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist fit-out manufacturer in Basildon, Essex. As a Bench Joiner you will manufacture high-quality bespoke joinery for luxury commercial interiors, reading technical drawings and using panel saws and thicknessers in a modern workshop.

This is a permanent, full-time position with an attractive package up to £41,500 per annum (£18.80 per hour), pension, death in service, health plan, and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Bench Joinery.
• Experience reading and working from technical drawings.
• Experience operating woodworking machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
• Able to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble bespoke joinery to high standards.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and production plans.
• Operate panel saws and planer/thicknessers.
• Produce shaped and profiled timber components.
• Prepare completed work for Spray Shop and Quality Control.
• Maintain exceptional workmanship throughout production.
• Support colleagues across the workshop when required.
• Follow health and safety procedures and keep workspace clean.

The Role

As a Bench Joiner, you'll manufacture high-quality bespoke joinery to exacting standards, producing premium products for luxury commercial fit-out projects

• Manufacturing and assembling bespoke joinery
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and production plans
• Operating woodworking machinery, including panel saws and planer/thicknessers
• Producing shaped and profiled timber components
• Preparing completed work for the Spray Shop and Quality Control departments
• Maintaining exceptional standards of workmanship throughout production
• Supporting colleagues across the workshop when required
• Following health and safety procedures while keeping your workspace clean and organised

About You

Experience:

• Previous experience as a Bench Joiner, Cabinet Maker, Workshop Joiner or similar
• A time-served apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Bench Joinery, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience operating woodworking machinery within a manufacturing environment
• The ability to confidently read and work from technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality work
• A reliable, positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team
