Job summary

Nationwide Platforms is seeking a keen and experienced service engineer, fitter, technician or mechanic to join our workshop team in the UK. You will inspect, repair and maintain powered access machines such as booms and scissor lifts, with full training provided.

A strong mechanical/electrical background and a positive attitude are essential. We offer a starting salary of £30,000 (depending on experience), life assurance x2, Westfield health plan, 25 days holiday and a pension.

Qualifications

• Relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics fault finding.
• Have a mature outlook and the ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
• Understand the importance of excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Service Engineer in the Depot workshop.
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of machines at client premises and depot.
• Ensure no deficiency or defect affecting safe operation of a machine.
• Notify manager of any defective or unsafe equipment.
• Repair machines at depot or on site to conformance with spec & policy.
• Complete planned maintenance and keep fleet appearance to standard.
• Handover machines to customers and train on safe operation.
• Act as ambassador for the company with high level of customer care.
• Relay customer queries to depot staff as required.
• Complete paperwork: engineer's report, off hire, PDI and service sheets.
• Update machine status in system (PDI done, under repair, etc.).
