Job description

Overview

Interaction Technical has partnered with a well-established and national plant hire firm to support the growth of their team. Our client, who has been established for over 50 years, is looking to onboard and train engineers from plant, HGV, automotive, or agricultural backgrounds. They offer a comprehensive training scheme alongside internal progression routes.

The Package

• 22 days annual leave plus public holidays, increasing by 1 day for each year of service (up to 25 days)
• Overtime pay at 1.5x rate for hours over 8 per day
• Salary sacrifice scheme for an additional 5 days' annual leave per year

The Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites to perform maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment
• Diagnose complex technical issues and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide recommendations
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Provide training and support to clients' staff on machinery operation and maintenance
• Maintain detailed records of service activities, parts used, and work completed
• Communicate with the in-house engineering team to provide feedback and improve products

The Requirements

• Experience in the plant, automotive, HGV, or agricultural industry (essential)
• Experience working with hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems (essential)
• Experience with engines is advantageous
• Fault finding, repair, and service experience in electrical and/or mechanical systems
• Desire to lead, manage, and grow a team
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
• Full UK driver's license
