With decades of expertise and a strong reputation for quality service, the company is now looking to expand its engineering team due to consistent growth and new long-term contracts.

The Role

As a Mobile & Workshop Generator Engineer, you’ll split your time between the fully equipped workshop in Andover and field-based assignments across the UK. You’ll be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault finding on a variety of diesel and gas generator systems, supporting both commercial and industrial clients. This is a varied and rewarding position ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of hands-on mechanical and electrical work with customer-facing responsibilities.

  • On-site fault finding, load testing, and system diagnostics
  • Installation and commissioning of generators and control systems
  • Preventative maintenance and emergency call-outs (with overtime available)
  • Workshop-based rebuilds, inspections and electrical testing

The Candidate

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in generator engineering – ideally in both mobile and workshop environments. You should be confident working independently, have strong problem-solving skills, and be able to represent the business professionally in front of customers.

Essential:

  • Background in diesel generator maintenance and repair
  • Comfortable with both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willing to travel and work flexible hours, including occasional overnights

Desirable:

  • Experience with control panel wiring and diagnostics
  • Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g. FG Wilson, Perkins, Cummins)
  • Diesel Generator experience

The Benefits

  • £35,000 – £40,000 basic salary
  • On-target earnings up to £55,000
  • Company vehicle provided (personal use optional)
  • Tools, PPE and mobile phone provided
  • Overtime rates and performance bonuses
  • Supportive team environment with a stable, family-run employer
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
