The position provides 37-hour weeks, flexitime, and a clear path for training and career progression, located in Essex with commuting options from nearby towns.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical background ideal for building, calibrating and testing bespoke equipment.
• Experience with mechanical tools and assemblies or precision components is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn procedures and follow structured work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble mechanical units and sub-assemblies.
• Set up mechanical kit on test equipment and carry out calibration.
• Perform functional testing, checks and quality inspections.
• Strip down, inspect and overhaul returned units.
• Clean, measure and assess components for wear and tolerances.
• Follow detailed drawings, work instructions and procedures.
• Produce build reports, test records and service documentation.
• Support senior technicians with complex builds and fault investigations.
• Maintain a safe, organized workshop environment.
