Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking Workshop Mechanics to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles, including HGVs and light commercial vehicles. Workshop Mechanic - x4 positions
This is an exciting opportunity to join our workshop team and contribute to the repair and maintenance of Brighton and Hove City Council’s diverse fleet in accordance with the relevant legislation, manufacturer’s instructions, and maintenance schedules.
What is important to us?
You will be willing to learn about modern technologies.
Reliability will be essential as you will be working in a working in a busy workshop environment.
You will hold a full driving licence, ideally for HGV.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with HGV, PSV, LCV and light plant and commercial vehicles such as minibuses.
Ideally, youwill be qualified to level 3 or equivalent in HGV/LCV mechanics.

Job Introduction
You will be someone who is willing to learn about new technologies with background in a busy workshop environment as well as acquiring different skillsets due to the diversity of the fleet in house or with other providers. Your key tasks will be:

Working Hours | 41 hour working week Monday to Friday, made up of 37 basic hours at £19.66p/hr, and 4 hours contracted overtime at £29.50p/hr |
Salary: | Guaranteed salary £44,090 (equivalent to £20.62p/hr for 41 hours) with earnings up to £46,658 (£21.83p/hr) including bank holiday working. PLUS Market Supplement £5090 |
