About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our mechanical workshop team in Dover. In this hands-on role, you'll manage daily operations, support on-site work, and make sure all jobs are done safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the workshop team

  • Plan and allocate work to meet project deadlines

  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency

  • Make sure all work follows company safety procedures and client rules

  • Oversee workshop tools, equipment, and maintenance

  • Work with Project Managers to help deliver projects smoothly

  • Support staff training and development

  • Attend client and site meetings when needed

What You'll Need
Essential:

  • NVQ Level 4 or similar in Mechanical Engineering or Workshop Management

  • Experience in workshop or engineering team management

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems

  • Valid safety and machinery certifications (e.g. CSCS, CCNSG)

  • Good leadership and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in heavy or industrial engineering

  • Knowledge of CAD drawings, welding, or fabrication

  • Forklift or overhead crane certification

Other Requirements:

  • You'll need your own vehicle to get to our Dover workshop
