Job summary

A leading asset rental business in Brighouse is seeking a Workshop Manager to oversee operations and ensure high quality standards in fleet and plant equipment maintenance. The role involves leadership, technical know-how, and a strong focus on safety and team development. Candidates should have experience in LCVs, HGVs, or plant equipment, along with engineering qualifications.

Qualifications

Youll be at the heart of our Brighouse operation, leading a skilled team and ensuring that our fleet and plant equipment are kept in top condition. From planning and compliance to people management and audits, this is a hands-on role that blends leadership with technical know-how.

• Oversee workshop operations, ensuring maximum output and quality
• Lead safety-first culture and complete weekly audits across sites
• Manage workshop team performance, mentoring and upskilling where needed
• Monitor and maintain high service standards across all equipment
• Contribute to planning and stock readiness with weekly yard checks
  
  

About This Role

About You

Youre a hands-on leader with a mechanical mindset and a proven background in LCVs, HGVs or plant equipment. Youll bring energy, structure and a people-first approach to team development, while never losing sight of quality and safety.

• Previous experience as a Workshop Manager or Supervisor in a similar setting
• Strong background as a Service Engineer or Fitter on LCVs, HGVs or Plant & Equipment
• Preferably competent in using diagnostic tools and maintenance systems
• Engineering qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ preferred)
• Calm under pressure and confident in setting clear team priorities
