Workshop Manager - Bedford | Up to £50,000 + Car Allowance

Alecto Recruitment are working for a leading plant hire company in Bedford. We're looking for a hands-on Workshop Manager / Plant Maintenance Manager / Depot Workshop Lead to run a busy workshop and lead a skilled team.

If you have experience in plant machinery maintenance, telehandlers, excavators, forklifts, materials handling machinery and heavy equipment, and enjoy managing a workshop from start to finish, this could be your next move.

Responsibilities

• Run a busy workshop and lead a skilled team in a depot environment.
• Oversee plant machinery maintenance, including telehandlers, excavators, forklifts and materials handling equipment.
• Manage workshop activities from start to finish, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

What We\'re Looking For

• Has a recognised plant maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• Broad knowledge of plant machinery, telehandler maintenance, hydraulic systems, and mechanical repair techniques
• Proven experience in workshop leadership, team management, and equipment maintenance
• Excellent organisational & time management skills
• IT-literate & confident with workshop systems / maintenance software
• Proactive, resilient, and able to coach and motivate a team
• Full UK driving licence (max 3 points)
