We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated HGV Workshop Foreman to lead our dynamic team in Wimbledon. This pivotal role involves overseeing a team of technicians and fitters in a bustling HGV workshop, ensuring all operations are executed with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations within the HGV workshop, ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with company standards.
- Lead, coordinate, and motivate a team of technicians and fitters, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Provide technical guidance in mechanical repairs and advanced diagnostics, actively participating in hands-on tasks.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and within set timeframes, adhering to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain meticulous records of jobs and effectively communicate with both office and workshop staff.
- Handle administrative duties related to job scheduling and reporting as needed.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team development and learning.
- Manage vehicle preparation, cleaning, and maintenance, ensuring readiness for workshop entry and MOT presentation.
- Uphold stringent safety standards and ensure all operations comply with organizational policies and procedures.
- Efficiently manage inventory and procurement of vehicle parts to minimize downtime.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HGV Workshop Foreman, preferably within a similar workshop environment.
- In-depth technical knowledge of HGV maintenance and repair, including hands-on diagnostic capabilities.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of motivating and managing teams.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- A steadfast commitment to safety, quality, and customer service excellence.
- Continuous professional development in HGV operations and management.
- Valid Class 1 or Class 2 HGV driving licence.
- Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Qualification (City & Guilds/IMI/NVQ or equivalent).
