Job summary

Odin Recruitment Group is seeking a Workshop Supervisor in Warrington. The role leads a team of 5 mechanical fitters, coordinating daily workshop activities, ensuring safety and quality, and delivering work on time in a busy engineering environment.

You will supervise, mentor and develop the team, read engineering drawings, troubleshoot gearboxes, motors, pumps and other rotating equipment, and maintain high standards across all workshop initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Mechanical Fitter/Supervisor, able to lead a small team.
• Hands-on experience with gearboxes, motors, pumps, engines and drive chains.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of 5 experienced mechanical fitters
• Allocate daily work and coordinate workshop activities
• Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and within timescales
• Provide hands-on technical support when required
• Oversee stripping, inspection, repair and reassembly of mechanical equipment
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality
• Monitor job progress and communicate updates to management
• Support training, development and mentoring of workshop staff
• Ensure workshop procedures, health & safety and company standards are followed
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal teams as required
• Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and processes
