Job summary

Finning Power Rental is seeking a Workshop based Generator Engineer to service and mobilise rental equipment across the UK and Ireland. You will prepare and deploy generators, loadbanks, transformers, fuel tanks and ancillaries for on-site projects.

You will perform fault finding, routine maintenance and inspections, ensuring equipment is safe, compliant and ready for hire. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge plus hands-on testing are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems across generators, transformers and loadbanks.
• Apprenticeship/training with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical or electronic engineering.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety practices and electrical safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Test, service and maintain the rental fleet equipment according to maintenance schedules and document results.
• Perform intermediate level repairs and provide technical recommendations to maximize fleet availability.
• Lead logistics for inbound/outbound equipment and ensure correct functionality for customer projects.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems to resolve issues quickly and safely.
• Complete Ready to Rent process and document inspections and repairs.
