Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Workshop engineer in Ipswich to service and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment. The role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults, performing LOLER inspections and completing safety checks in a clean, customer-focused environment.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with optional 4-day week. The package includes a base salary of £33,000–£38,000 plus overtime potential and a company pension.

Qualifications

• Experience as forklift engineer
• Proven experience with diesel engines
• Strong experience with electrics, hydraulics and diagnostic skills
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repair work on a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment
• Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
• Carrying out LOLER inspections to ensure all equipment remains fully compliant
• Completing safety checks and pre-delivery inspections
• Responding to breakdowns and conducting reactive maintenance to reduce customer downtime
• Effectively organising and managing your workload and service schedule
• Accurately filling out service reports and job sheets
• Communicating with parts departments to ensure the correct components are sourced and installed

Basic Salary: £33,000–£38,000

OTE: £39,188–£45,125 (based on 5 hours' overtime per week)

Location: Ipswich

Due to an increasing workload, we are recruiting for a forklift engineer – you will be working for a well-established, employee-focused forklift and material handling company.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing servicing, maintenance and repair work on a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment
• Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
• Carrying out LOLER inspections to ensure all equipment remains fully compliant
• Completing safety checks and pre-delivery inspections

What you’ll need:

Your Package:

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm, 40hrs (if you would rather do 4 days a week, this is also an option!)
• Basic Salary: £33,000–£38,000
• OTE: £39,188–£45,125 (based on 5 hours' overtime per week)
• Overtime paid at 1.5x
