Workshop Fitter - Waste Machinery

Are you a hands-on, mechanically minded individual looking to join a growing and innovative company in the waste and recycling machinery sector? We're looking for a skilled Workshop Fitter to join our team and help build, maintain, and refurbish high-performance waste processing equipment.

About the Role:

As a Workshop Fitter, you'll be responsible for:

  • Assembling and fitting components for recycling and waste machinery (shredders, conveyors, compactors, etc.).
  • Carrying out mechanical repairs, refurbishments, and routine maintenance.
  • Working from technical drawings and specifications.
  • Fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Ensuring quality and safety standards are met at all times.
  • Assisting with machine testing and commissioning when required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, ideally within the waste, recycling, plant, or heavy machinery industry.
  • Good knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
  • Welding/fabrication experience is a plus (not essential).
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
