Job summary

Opus Vitae in Oswestry is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to service, maintain and repair a varied range of forklifts, access equipment and telehandlers from the Oswestry depot. You will work with the engineering team to minimise fleet downtime and support customer operations.

The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, based in the workshop with occasional field tasks as required. You will perform diagnostic, repair and fabrication work, including welding where needed.

Qualifications

• Practical engineering experience in a repair, maintenance or workshop environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Ability to interpret job requirements and complete work safely and accurately.
• Clear communication and the ability to work effectively within a workshop team.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair forklifts, access equipment, telehandlers and other machinery in the workshop.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs within timeframes and quality requirements.
• Carry out engineering and fabrication work, including welding where required and within individual competence.
• Follow all workshop health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised working environment.
• Coordinate parts requirements with the Service Controller for assigned jobs.
• Keep the Workshop Manager and colleagues informed of progress, delays and additional repair requirements.
• Support other workshop engineers and contribute to reducing equipment downtime.
